Who are RibaSolar

RibaSolar are suppliers of environmental and renewable energy sources in the Valencian region. Specialising in the planning and installation of Electricity Supply, Hot Water Systems and Pool Heating Systems we have many solutions designed to cover every aspect of home power generation.

With 340 days of sunshine per year in Spain , natural power solutions are ideal for powering your home. Whether you want to power your whole home, heat your pool or pump irrigation water, using natural power sources such as solar and wind power is an excellent alternative that is clean, quiet and cost efficient.

How can we help you Back to Top

RibaSolar are able to install and provide warranty’s for your system for far less money than our competition, thanks to our low overheads. We also deal with the relevant authorities to win you grants for your installation!! We can advise you on the best type of energy saving system for your specific needs, including the use of a good quality generator to subsidise your initial outlay and minimise ongoing costs.

Sun Facts Back to Top

The earth is constantly showered in solar radiation. The total radiation received at ground level comes from "direct" or " indirect / diffuse" radiation and is made up of a number of components. Our atmosphere stops a considerable amount of the cosmic rays that bombard our planet and without this shield we would perish very rapidly. Gamma rays and X-rays are completely absorbed in the upper atmosphere, UV (b) is completely absorbed by oxygen, nitrogen and ozone in the upper atmosphere, UV (a) is transmitted but with severe atmospheric scattering, visible light is transmitted with moderate scattering of shorter wavelengths and infrared and thermal infrared is absorbed at differing wavelengths by CO2, O3, and water vapor.

The energy filtered through heats our world in an uneven fashion, and together with the cyclic motions of our planet within the solar system produces the seasons’, winds, weather systems and tides that sustain us, and give life.

The strength of radiation varies with the seasons as we move closer and further from the sun. The strength we receive also varies through our atmospheric conditions. As well as cloud cover, the sun doesn't always strike us directly from overhead. When the sun rises or sets it's light must travel "across" our atmosphere and this further accentuates the level. Light therefore has to travel through a greater thickness of atmosphere which results in greater "scattering". It is this scattering that reflects and creates visible light mostly in the violet and blue spectrum, giving us our blue skies.

When the sun is directly overhead it appears white because this is the point of "least" scattering, and as it moves to the horizon it takes on a more "yellow / red " tinge. (This partly explains why the hottest part of the day is from 10am - 2pm , and why we need ample UV protection then.)

At sunrise and sunset it appears red because scattering is at a maximum and the effects of orange and red light scattering is easily seen. Also non-selective scattering from dust etc. helps the red spectrum predominate when the sun is at this low angle. It is also worth mentioning that the suns light is a most effective germicidal agent as exposure to wavelengths of 290 nm to 400nm will destroy living tissues and is most effective in disinfecting our fresh water supplies. Protozoa, bacteria and many viruses are kept in check by our sun.

Site Survey Back to Top

In order for us to compile an accurate and competitive proposal for you, a site survey will need to be carried out. Before this happens we will need you to provide us with a certain amount of information. The more accurate your answers are, the more efficient the system will function. We need to know which appliances are going to need power, i.e TV, power tools, lighting, etc. We will also need to know the exact power consumption of each item and also how many hours usage per day. The results from this survey will be used to calculate how much energy will need to be generated. You will find a survey form for you to complete under each energy source option on this site.
